Welcome to the Cognition Education Research Trust (CERT) website. CERT is governed and managed as a fully independent education research trust. CERT aims to foster and encourage, promote and disseminate quality education research with a view to improving and developing the quality of teaching and learning in New Zealand schools. CERT currently provides grants to individuals completing postgraduate education programmes and also to groups of researchers, practitioners, and policy makers. CERT was established in 2006 by Multi Serve Education Trust (MSET) to benefit schools in New Zealand. CERT has committed nearly $1.5 million of funding to high quality research right across the school sector. CERT is a non-governmental body which contributes to building a stronger research base for New Zealand’s education system. Refer to the About CERT section for more detailed information about the Trust, its policies and the trustees.
